Turmeric And Cancer- A Promising Connection!

The ever-increasing number of cancer patients across the globe has become a huge concern for governments and health care organizations.  Let us look at some global data on cancer just to put things into perspective:

According to Cancer Research UK, a nonprofit organization, in 2012 alone, there have been more than 8 million deaths in the world due to cancer. That is more than the number of deaths caused by war in the last decade.

And what is more alarming is that there have been 14 million new cases of cancer registered worldwide. Although, it is hard to say which type of cancer is more fatal, lung cancer has turned out to become the most common followed by breast cancer. Almost one out of every 10 male in the world has been diagnosed with lung cancer, the leading causes of this being smoking, tobacco usage and even pollution.

No cure in sight

Despite spending billions on research and drug development, the world has nothing concrete to show for it. It hasn’t been even able to list out the actual reasons for cancer. At any given point of time, there is a new claim from a drug company or few individuals about the invention of a miracle cancer drug, but sooner or later, the hopes are dashed again. While the world waits for a reliable cure, wouldn’t it be wise to look at some remedies that nature herself has provided us.
